GIC-U88 – Slow-Release Urea

GIC-U88isanon-proteinnitrogen(NPN) product specifically developed for the digestive characteristics of ruminants, designed to precision release in the rumen. Under appropriate feed energy-to-nitrogenratios, GIC-U88 can maximize the conservation of high quality protein ingredients in feed while reducing feed costs, without compromising animal health.

CHARACTERISTICSOFPROTEINDIGESTION

Both protein and NPN can be degraded by rumen micro organisms into ammonia (NH3). The micro organisms can utilize this ammonia to synthesize microbial protein to providing the cow with high-quality protein.

Urea, as the most common NPN source, offers advantages such as high nitrogen content, lowcost, and wide availability. However, its rapid hydrolysis in the rumen leads to a sharp rise in ammonia concentration, posing a risk of ammonia toxicity. To address this, GIC-U88 employs specialized coating technology to synchronize ammonia release with carbohydrate availability in the rumen. This ensures that ammonia is released at a rate aligned with microbial utilization capacity.
